George W. Penniman

Prior to founding his own practice in 1993, George W. Penniman worked for several award-winning firms in New England. In Bridgehampton, New York he worked for E. L. Futterman, Architects, a designer of high-end custom houses throughout the Hamptons. In Newport, Rhode Island he worked for the office of Estes-Burgin Architects, largely on houses in the Newport and Jamestown area. With William D. Warner Architects and Planners of Rhode Island, work involved several projects of an institutional nature. Finally, at Centerbrook Architects in Essex, Connecticut, he worked on commercial projects and significant residential properties in Fairfield and Westchester counties. The experience with these outstanding firms contributed to the knowledge and ethic that he brings to his current work.

Mr. Penniman received a BA cum Laude in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia in 1981. He earned a Masters of Architecture from the University of Virginia in 1986. He is licensed in Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
